Director Taika Cohen (Eagles Vs. Shark) and NZ Legend Temuera "Jake "The Mus" Morrison (Once Were Warriors) has been cast in The Green Lantern directed by fellow Kiwi-born Martin Campbell (Casino Royale). I always wanted Temuera Morrison to return to Hollywood for ages, he is one of the most underrated actors of all-time.
Taika Cohen will play Hal Jordan's (Ryan Reynolds) best friend ThomAs Kalmuka and Temuera Morrison will play Abin Sur, one of the members of the Green Corps who was a main factor Hal Jordan becoming The Green Lantern. Others joining the two are Peter Sarsgaard, Mark Strong and Academy Award winner Tim Robbins.
The movie is set for a June 2011 release.
