Quick Iron Man 2 Review

I was so amped for this movie and I felt really good being in the movie theatre, finally, after waiting two years, I'm watching Iron Man 2!! The movie wasn't what I expected at all. That doesn't mean I hated it, I loved it, but not as much as the first. I thought they would've done a better job than the first, which was a big and difficult task, Iron Man already set the bar real high for Iron Man 2 to try succeed, in which it did not. The first made you laugh, made you cry (Well sad, I don't cry), and it made you feel triumphant in the end.

But Iron Man 2, made me a little confused, some parts jut didn't make sense for me. But one of the things I loved about the movie Robert Downey Jr. He's always awesome. He made the movie look extra good. Mickey Rourke as Whiplash, and Don Cheadle as War Machine both did a bad ass job. Cheadle made Terrence Howard's portrayal, look poofy.  But Jackson wasn't Nick Fury. Nick Fury was Samuel L Jackson. And not in a good way. The action was too short as well, I mean they were cool, only if it was longer. But it was a good movie, I just expected a lot.

The score is another reason why I wasn't into the movie. I am a soundtrack fan, and what John Debney did to the movie was ok, but not for Iron Man 2. Maybe Spider-Man 3 (I hated the score), but not Iron Man 2. Ramin Djawadi made the first movie awesome with his score. Where was the main Iron Man theme?

Rating: 7.5/10

Yep Kick-Ass is still the best movie of 2010

Anyway here is a spoiler filled ups and downs for Iron Man 2 after the jump.

Here are another collection of posters including MacGruber, and after the jump Jonah Hex, Scream 4 and Sex and the City 2.

Game: Here's A Look At "Madden 11"

Here is a new video focusing on the new Madden game, where it shows the changes that have been made to the game. The only sad thing about the game is that there will be no commentary from John Madden. But there are more things that make up for the game, and check here at G4TV, where they give their first look at the game.

From G4TV:
"The first thing I noticed about Madden NFL 11 was that it took me inside the game of football in a way that no other Madden has since the classic 2005 game, when the Hitstick combined with the Playmaker tool for a football nerd’s game nirvana. As the game begins, you’ll see the quarterback stoically leading your team off the bus and into an imposing stadium. And, yeah, they’re dressed in suits. “It’s the first time ever in any game that an NFL player has worn a suit,” adds Young. But they have their game faces on.

That cut-scene leads into wide angle, pre-game view where you ogle a stadium that’s not full of fans but, as you watch, will be filled by game time. Showing a stadium in various stages of attendance is just a tweak. It’s also further evidence that EA is serious about revamping the game to make it more like the genuine event."

Oh and if you're wondering who the cover athlete is, it's obviously Superbowl MVP 2009 for the New Orleans Saints, Drew Brees.

Music Video: B.o.B Ft. T.I - "Bet I Bust"

B.o.B, with his song "Nothin On You" featuring Bruno Mars at the top of the charts and his second official (but third, after "Don't Let Me Fall") single "Airplanes" featuring Paramore's Hayley Williams also on the charts, nothing can't stop rising superstar B.o.B. He's released another promotional single "Bet I Bust", not sure if it is his third official single but I'm sure it will be as the music video has just been unleashed for the single, featuring T.I.

Movie Trailer: The Disappearance Of Alice Creed

Here is the US trailer for the upcoming horror film The Disappearance of Alice Creed starring Bond girl Gemma Arterton (Quantum of Solace, Clash of the Titans). This movie was released last year at the Toronto Film Festival and has impressed many critics so I'm pretty much looking forward to it. I also got a little crush on Gemma Arterton so make that another reason why I want to watch it. Her is the longest synopsis I've seen in a while and check out the trailer:

Two men — one in his twenties, the other nearer forty, both intensely focused on the task at hand — line the inside of a transit van with plastic. Shopping, they buy a drill, mattress and other supplies. In a small flat they assemble a bed for the mattress and staple foam insulation and board to the walls and windows of a bedroom. Then, their meticulous preparations complete, they kidnap a young woman. They drag her from the street into the back of the van and, with a bag over her head and ball gag in her mouth, take her back to the flat, tying her to the bed in the room they have converted into a prison cell. The kidnappers are Danny (Martin Compston) and Vic (Eddie Marsan), two ex—cons planning to make a mint on the ransom for the young woman. The younger, nervier of the two, Danny defers to the more experienced Vic, who acts with a steely conviction. Their hostage is Alice Creed (Gemma Arterton), daughter of a rich businessman, chosen by Vic and Danny as their passport to a better life. Terrified and immobile at first, it soon becomes clear that Alice isn’t about to let her captors use her as capital without a fight. As determined to escape as Vic and Danny are to succeed, Alice enters into a battle of wills which strains the already fractious relationship between the two men. As the deadline for the exchange draws nearer, all three are brought close to breaking point, with Vic and Danny’s foolproof plan descending into a desperate struggle for survival.

Movie Trailer: The Last Airbender

Here is the final trailer for M. Night Shyalaman's The Last Airbender starring Noah Ringer, playing the hero Aang, and Dev Patel as the evil Prince Zuko.

"Based on the hugely successful Nickelodeon animated TV series, the live-action feature film is set in a world where human civilization is divided into four nations: Water, Earth, Air and Fire. The Fire Nation is waging a ruthless, oppressive war against the other three nations. The film’s hero, the reluctant young Aang (Noah Ringer), is the “Last Airbender” — the Avatar who, according to prophecy, has the ability to manipulate all of the elements and bring all the nations together. Aided by a protective teenage Waterbender named Katara (Nicola Peltz) and her bull-headed brother Sokka, Aang proceeds on a perilous journey to restore balance to their war-torn world. Dev Patel plays the Fire Nation’s evil prince Zuko. Exiled from the Fire Nation by his father, Zuko is sent to capture the Avatar in order to restore his honor and right to the throne."

Awesome "A Nightmare On Elm Street" Motion Poster

The popularity of motion posters are souring ever since Terminator Salvation started it. I think. Maybe it was that Spiderman 3 poster where the suit changes from the original to the black symbiote suit. Anyway, here is yet another one, and in my opinion, the scariest one yet, featuring Freddy Krueger, played by Jackie Earle Haley. The marketing promotion of A Nightmare On Elm Street is fantastic and I applaud every one of them.

At first, I was hesitant to think that this movie would do great, even with the always awesome Jackie Earle Haley playing the villainous Krueger. But as the marketing team promoted the movie more with the posters, trailers and TV spots, the more I believe that this movie will kick ass. Movie marketing has become more important nowadays, and I am a big fan of that, because what they did with this movie and also The Losers, I'm already sold. Well done.

B.o.B Scores Number One On The Billboard Hot 100!

One of the up and coming stars B.o.B, has finally took reigning Queen Rihanna off the Number 1 slot on the Billboard Top 100 charts with the song "Nothin' On You" featuring Bruno Mars.

Will he be a one hit wonder or hit maker? Time will tell, with the release of his debut album The Adventures of Bobby Ray, this will determine whether he will be either one. But it does seem he will be the latter, with the release of his second single "Airplanes", featuring Paramore's Hayley Williams, debuting on the same charts at Number 12.

He can rap, he can sing, and sing well that is, unlike 50 Cent, I scringe everytime I hear him sing. I don't know if 'scringe' is a word, but if you hear Fitty sing, you don't know what word to describe it, so you make up your own. Anyway check out B.o.B, he will be one of the few rappers that can take you back to the golden age of Hip-Hop, and I hope to gosh revive it.

The Adventures Of Bobby Ray hits stores April 27th.

Music Video: Tyga Ft. Chris Brown - Holla At Me

Tyga is without Young Money on his new mixtape collaboration with fallen angel Chris Brown, Fan On A Fan, with the song "Holla At Me". Fans of the singers were able to be included in the music video, with the requirement of wearing 'all black everything'.

Interview: Karl Urban On "Priest"

NZ actor Karl Urban talks to ComingSoon.net about his role as the villain Black Hat in the upcoming comic book adaptation Priest, starring Paul Bettany, Cam Gigandet and Maggie Q, out in January 2011.

"The fun thing about villains is that they get to do and say those things that we can never do in real life. I love that," says Urban. "The thing about that character was that he was a former priest and his job was to hunt down vampires. He was captured and turned into one and found himself on the other side. I guess it's kind of a do or die situation...There was an emotional complexity about it in terms of the fact that I felt betrayed by Paul Bettany's character for having let me go or letting him let me be captured or not killed me. There's sort of interesting layers that you can sort of infuse and the depth of that rage and anger and longing and lust even of wanting Paul Bettany's character the Priest to come and join me so together as brothers they can exterminate humanity."

When asked about the vampire genre comeback he says "I think it's kind of sexy. It's definitely post-True Blood and Twilight, it's really interesting how that whole genre has taken off. I think there's something taboo about it and that's always very attractive and forbidden and sexual. I think that's a great hook for people. You always want what you can't have."

News: Peter Jackson Gives Latest On The Hobbit

NZ Filmmaker Peter Jackson, has talked to Moviefone on the latest of his upcoming movie The Hobbit, also squashing many rumours that were spreading around the web. The only thing he confirmed were that they have now finished the script and has forwarded them to the studio, MGM, which has been a little busy as of late. So it's all down to MGM. So the film will only be on its way when MGM says so, so don't believe any rumours until you see that MGM greenlights The Hobbit.

Read more at MovieFone, where Jackson also talks about the casting.

Fresh from Kick-Ass, Aaron Johnson will now star in Nowhere Boy, which premiered last year at the London Film Festival. Johnson will star as one of the greatest singers of all time, John Lennon. This is however, the early days of Lennon, back in 1955.

I found a brilliantly fan-made poster that is a million times better than the other Iron Man 2 Posters! Special thanks to hobo123 over at Superherohype.

Music: Snippets of The Adventures of Bobby Ray

B.o.B's first mixtape was “Who The F*** is B.o.B” and then “B.o.B vs Bobby Ray” These both have solid tracks. Along with the EP’s he released, he could have easily made an album. But due to some label issues from what I’ve heard, he never got the chance.
His first single from the album was Nothin on You with Bruno Mars. (Bruno did an amazing hook. And I have no doubt that we will be hearing him on some more tracks very soon) It was thanks to this single that the album got pushed up. Then came Don’t Let Me Fall. This showed his diversity going from singing to rapping, both done flawlessly. Finally a few nights ago I heard Airplanes with Hayley Williams, the lead singer from Paramore. Which is an Awesome track. NOW can't wait for Airplanes II featuring Eminem.

The Adventure of Bobby Ray releases on the 27th of April.

Movie: New Sorcerer's Apprentice Poster

News: Mark Strong Talks Green Lantern

British actor Mark Strong, known for playing many villains, and good ones too, talked to USA Today about his next film, The Green Lantern, playing Hal Jordan's (Ryan Reynolds) mentor then eventually his enemy, Sinestro. He talks about how his character would be more based on the early comics.

"For anybody who’s familiar with the Green Lantern and the origin story, the film closely follows the early comics. Sinestro starts out as Hal Jordan’s mentor, slightly suspicious and not sure of him because obviously Hal is the first human being who’s made into a Green Lantern. He’s certainly very strict and certainly unsure of the wisdom of Hal becoming a Green Lantern."

"He is a military guy but isn’t immediately bad. It’s the kind of person he is that lends himself to becoming bad over the course of the comics being written, but initially he’s quite a heroic figure."

The film, shooting in 3D as we speak, will be released next year and will also star Blake Lively, Peter Saarsgard, Tim Robbins and Temuera Morrison. The film is directed by Martin Campbell.

Enter Barry (Steve Carell), a guy with a passion for dressing mice up in tiny outfits to recreate great works of art. From Jay Roach, director of “Meet the Parents” and “Meet the Fockers” comes an unforgettable feast about two unlikely friends and one very memorable dinner.

News: Emily Blunt In Batman 3?

There were news around the net that British actress Emily Blunt declined the love interest role in The First Avenger: Captain America. Now more rumours surfaced explaining why she turned it down, and the reason is that she might have scheduling conflicts with another upcoming superhero film, the Untitled Batman Film. Now this might all be just a rumour, as Chris Nolan probably hasn't even started thinking of any casting yet, or is he?

It was also rumoured the reason for her decision to turn down the role is because she would rather play a superhero than a love interest, which is fine by me, her wanting to play a strong female figure than a damsel in distress. I like that decision if it is the case, as she picks her roles very seriously, and she won't play a role even if it means it would catapult her to stardom.

What does Christopher Nolan have up his sleeve if she is on board? Catwoman?

News: Chris Evans Talks Captain America

Recently confirmed by Marvel Studios that he will indeed star as Steve Rogers AKA Captain America in The First Avenger: Captain America, Chris Evans finally discusses his role at The Losers panel at WonderCon last weekend.

When asked why he took the role, he said, "I think Marvel is doing a lot of good things right now, and it's a fun character. Even if it wasn't a comic book. I think the story of Steve Rogers is great. He's a great guy. Even if it was just a script about anybody, I would probably want to do it. So it wasn't necessarily about the comic itself"

Pretty honest I gotta say, and he's taking a big sacrifice as an actor with this move, nine films for only $300,000 each. I just hope he does well with the role and will solidify him as a major movie star.

The film is set for July 22, 2011.

News: Joss Whedon in Talks For The Avengers

There were rumours surrounding Josh Whedon being considered to helm the ultimate superhero movie The Avengers, thanks to IESB, but now Marvel Studios has now confirmed the story as they were in touch with the LA Times. The paper revealed that Marvel has signed no director yet but has been in talks with Whedon and he is on the shortlist to direct the film.

In my opinion it is a good choice, as he is obviously an avid comic book fan, writing many comics for Marvel, and also has worked on the comic book movie X-Men. He also has many successful TV shows including Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Serenity, Firefly and most recently Dollhouse. He also has an upcoming movie Cabin in the Woods starring Australian actor Chris Hemsworth, who is now beefing up for the role of Marvel superhero Thor, with the film out in cinemas next year.

The Avengers will smash into theatres 2012.
